ARIADNA

The app Ariadna is an innovative tool designed to address a critical issue: survival rates in cases of cardiac arrest decline by 10% for each passing minute. This application facilitates the swift location of the nearest automated external defibrillator (AED) with remarkable ease. Supported by the Spanish Society of Cardiology (SEC) and the Red Cross, Ariadna also empowers users to contribute to the updating of AED registrations across Spain, with the aim of increasing their accessibility.

Ariadna serves as a collaborative map of defibrillators throughout Spain, leveraging technology to aid citizens in locating these life-saving devices. In addition to trained volunteers in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), any individual can assist by geolocating AEDs found in public or private spaces, validating previously registered devices contributed by others, and even enhancing the entries with photographs of their locations.

The application employs gamification to incentivize user participation; users earn symbolic medals for registering or validating an AED, which then adds to their personal profile. This participatory model not only encourages engagement but fosters community responsibility.

Developed within the SEC-Quality program, Ariadna aims to enhance the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cardiovascular diseases while promoting improved cardiovascular health within society.
